Harrell, Ernest LaVon
Ernest LaVon Harrell, 26 died at 11:55 p.m. Saturday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Della Harrell, in Lancaster township, four and a half miles southeast of the city. He had been ill three years and was confined to his home two years. In July of 1939 he was taken to the Irene Byron sanitarim for treatment and was returned in November of last year.
A life long resident of this county, he was born May 26, 1914 in Polk township to Clyde and Della Harrell and was married October 12, 1935.to Edna Marie Urshel.
He leaves the widow, a son, Larry Gene; his mother, and four brothers, Herman Harrell, Lagro, and Herbert, Lester and Dickie Harrell, all of Lancaster township.
He was employed as a woodworker at the Cyclone Manufacturing company at Urbana.
The body was returned to the mother's home where it will remain until the hour of the service. Funeral rites will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Hope church in Wabash County, a miles east of Dora. The Rev. Glenn Wagner, Roann, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Etna cemetery.
EARNEST HARRELL RITES CONDUCTED AT MT. HOPE
Last rites for Ernest LaVon Harrell were held Tuesday afternoon at the Mt. Hope church, Rev. Glenn Wagner officiating.
Joseph Bechtold and Mrs. Lloyd Slagle sang, accompanied by Mrs. Sherman Rosine at the piano.
Flowerbearers were Miss Anna Mae Beeks, Miss Vivian Huston, Miss Bernetta Huston, Miss Luella Gemmer, Mrs. Katherine Whitacre, Miss Marget Urschel, Miss Lorene Kennedy, Mrs. Avis Weaver, and Mrs. Lucille Gressley.
Pallbearers were Ernest Urschel, Paul Brewer, Wilbur Urschel, Herman Miller, Leon Feathergill, and Alfred Parks.
Interment was in the Mt. Etna cemetery.

Huntington -- November 11: Ernest LaVon Harrell, 26 died Saturday night at the home of his mother, Mrs. Della Harrell, in Lancaster Township, four and a half miles southwest of Huntington after three weeks illness. He was a patient at the Irene Byron sanatorium from July to November, 1939.
He was a woodworker at the Cyclone Manufacturing company in Urbana.
Surviving are the widow: formerly Edna Marie Urschel; a son, Larry Gene; the mother, and four brothers, Herman, Lagro, and Herbert, Lester and Dickie, Lancaster Township.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Mt. Hope Methodist Church in Wabash County at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rev. Glen Wagner of Roann officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Etna Cemetery.
