- John Breeden is listed on the 1860 Mortality Schedule of deaths from Ju ne 1, 1859 to June 1 1860. He died in October 1859 at the age of 68. He w as born in Tennessee and was a farmer. He had been sick for 3 years.
The 1860 Mortality Schedule was taken along with the census for Perso ns who died starting June 1, 1859 and ending May 31, 1860. Position with in the schedule corresponds only to the route surveyed as they were not li sted in any other order. It listed age at death, sex, race, marital statu s, where born, month of death, occupation, cause of death, and how long th ey were sick. Line 1 reads;
1. John Breeden, 68, male, white, married, TN. Oct., farmer, unknown, 3 y ears.
Meaning that he was 68 when he died and born in TN, that he died in Octob er 1859 of unknown causes and had been in failing health for 3 years. T he age is probably in error, as it would make his birth date before Octob er 1791 and other records have him born on 23 Nov. 1794, which would ha ve made him 64 years and 11 months. in October 1859.
