Sarah Elizabeth (HARRELL) BUCKNER was born Nov. 6, 1852. She died April 18, 1917, thus making her age sixty-four years, five months and twelve days at the time of her departure.
She was the daughter of John and Lucinda HARREL. Her girlhood days were spent in the west part of Greene County, where she was born, but since her marriage to James E. BUCKNER on August 2, 1874, they have resided in the Union Bethel community where they lived until her homeward flight.
Two sons, Theodore and Gilbert; seven grandchildren, Ona, Ertis, Dona, Dovis, Victor, Avis and Mary with the husband, survive.
She joined the Baptist church at Lebanon at an early age, but later moved her membership to the Church of God at Union Bethel.
Her faith in God was the beauty of her life, although she was prevented from attending church services as much as she would like on account of poor health, she was always interested in the upbuilding of the cause of Christ.
The devotion which existed between her and the grandchildren was most beautifulalways ready to aid in the many ways which was a mark of her kind and cheerful disposition.
She was a good neighbor and will be missed by a host of relatives and friends.
