Irvin Victor "Vic" YEAZEL, 84, a former resident of Argos, died at 9:14 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth.
Born in Wakarusa to Geroge Jackson and Nancy Louretta HARREL YEAZEL, he married Lorraine PFALLER. She died Nov. 14, 1986.
Mr. Yeazel attended school in a one-room Walnut Township schoolhouse. He was a self-employed house painter and also was employed as a janitor and truck driver. A musician, he plaed fiddle with the Yellow Creek Ramblers. He was a World War II veteran who landed on the beach in Normandy, France.
Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Irvin YEAZEL, Argos; Allan Dale YEAZEL and wife Terry, Argos; Stephen Leroy and Mona YEAZEL, Monterey; Dennis Keith and Michele YEAZEL, Lake of the Woods; and Randall Owen and Kristy YEAZEL, Lake of the Woods; two daughters, Karen Darlene YEAZEL, Syracuse; and Susan Janelle and David RICHARDSON, Roann; 21 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one sister, Flossie DENNEY, Argos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Leonard Bruce YEAZEL, three sisters, Cora DENNEY, Fern LYONS and Joy YEAZEL, and one brother, Dale YEAZEL.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, with pastor Larry SHUTSKE, Bremen, officiating. Military graveside rites will be proviced by the James Lowell Corey American Legion Post No. 68 of Argos.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
