Warren F. Spiker, 70, died at his home at 225 North Cass Street Friday evening at 9:15 from an illness dating over a period of several years.
He had been a resident of this city for 40 years and of the county all his life, having been born on the farm that was the Spiker home 70 years ago. He was the son of C.W. and Catherine Spiker. His marriage to Rose Barnes occurred in 1897.
He is survived by the widow; one sister, Mr. J.W. Rife; and two nieces, Mrs. Hazel Paullus and Mrs. Leah Pretorius with their families.
He was always deeply interested in public affairs, especially city improvements.
Funeral services will be held at the home 225 North Cass Street on Monday morning at 10 o'clock. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
