OLD SOLDIER DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS
W. R. CREAMER PASSED AWAY AT HOBBS WHERE HE HAD LIVED FOR YEARS.
A sufferer for several months from the infirmities due to his advanced age, W.R. Creamer, well known throughout Elwood and vicinity, died last night at his home at Hobbs.
The deceased was recently returned from the Soldiers home at Marion where he had been for the past few months. Mr. Creamer was a veteran of the Civil War and was a member of the Grand Army post here.
He is survived by a wife and one son. Due to his long residence in this vicinity he was widely known and the death will be generally mourned.
The funeral will be held at Hobbs Wednesday afternoon ad it is probaple that the majority of the Post members from here will attend. Interment will follow in the Vinson cemetert near Summitville. (Elwood Call-Leader, 16 August 1915). [NOTE: While this obituary indicates he will be buried at Summitville, he was actually buried in the Elwood city cemetery.]
Mr. Creamer was a veteran of the Civil War. He was a member of both the 130th and 140th Indiana Volunteer Infantries
