Virginia Patents 4, p. 445-446 George Smith 1020 Acres Exd. To all &c. Whereas &c. now Know ye That I the said Francis Moryson Esqr Governor &c. give and grant unto George Smith One thousand & Twenty Acres of Land bounding Vizt Eight hundred and fifty Acres part thereof lying in the County of New Kent & on the South Side of York River bounded on all sides by maked Trees as followeth the Eastermost Corner Hickory Tree of the Divident Southwest 39 Perches to another marked Hickory thence northwest 440 perches to a marked White Oak to a branch near Rickahock path to Chikahominy Fort, [thence?] Northeast 39 Perches to a marked red Oak near Rickahock path from the Said Smiths now dwelling House thence Southeast 440 perches [---?] to the place it Began, and 170 Acres the Residue lying and being in the County of New Kent and on the northwest side of [Deascun?] Swamp, Beginning at the said Swamp and runing Northwest 296 Poles by an old Line of Another Divident of the Said Smiths, then South by __ 40 poles to Pullams Corner thence south, Southeast 240 poles, then down a branch of the said Swamp & then up a branch to the place it Began. Eight hundred and fifty Acres of the said Land being formerly granted unto the said Smith by Patent dated the 8th. of September 1657. and 170 Acres the residue being due per Transportation of Four Persons &c. To Have & To Hold &c. To be Held &c. yielding and paying &c. provided &c. Dated the 20th. of October 1662.
